Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats are Bitterly Divided

There is a deep division between the liberal wing and the Democrat establishment led by Nancy Pelosi in the House. They can’t agree on impeachment, policy, or primary challenges and it is tearing the House Democratic caucus apart at the seams.

Freshman Rep. Rashida Tlaib is moving forward with her quest to impeach President Trump, but Pelosi isn’t on the same page. Other far-left representatives, such as Eric Swalwell and Adam Schiff, are also bucking Pelosi and continuing the collusion rhetoric.

Pelosi has taken control of the issue of climate change pushing the more moderate Climate Crisis Climate Action Now Act. As a result, progressives now are trying to pass off revisionist history with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal, dismissing the proposal by saying “it was never created with the intention of passing.” This move comes after months of touting the urgent need for the legislation.

The Progressive Caucus is also coming after DCCC chair Rep. Cheri Bustos for “blacklisting” anyone who works with candidates who primary sitting Democratic House members. Rep. Ro Khanna, vice chair of the Progressive Caucus, called Bustos’ move an “unprecedented grab of power [that] is a slap in the face of Democratic voters across the nation. It’s something even Rahm Emanuel would not have done and is totally tone-deaf to the grassroots activists across our nation.”
