Americans, Left Behind by Biden, Are Still Stuck in Afghanistan

Several weeks after the Biden-Harris administration’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, American citizens remain stranded in Afghanistan and regular, government-sponsored evacuation flights have stopped.

CNN: Most evacuation flights scheduled to depart Afghanistan this week have been canceled, according to a State Department email sent to US citizens in the country on Monday that was reviewed by CNN. . . But there are still Americans and many Afghans in the country who are finding it incredibly hard to leave, and the email underlines just how challenging the situation is.

According to the State Department, about 100 US citizens remain in Afghanistan who wish to depart. Price said one flight left the country on Monday but provided no details about who was on board or why that flight left and others are not.

Republicans, Americans stranded in Afghanistan, and even Barack Obama’s former Secretary of Defense are angry that Biden left behind Americans and our allies. Florida Republican Rep. Michael Waltz called Joe Biden’s record on Afghanistan “horrendous.”

The Biden-Harris administration’s failures have forced non-government organizations and nonprofits to fill the leadership void. One operation, called Project Dynamo, has been successfully evacuating Americans and our allies despite roadblocks from Biden’s Department of Homeland Security. At one point, DHS denied entry to the U.S. to one of Dynamo’s flights for hours, leaving passengers stranded in Abu Dubai with little food and sleeping on the floor.

Bottom Line: The Biden-Harris administration’s incompetence resulted in a disastrous and deadly withdrawal from Afghanistan. Weeks later, Americans are still trying to flee the Taliban but Biden has abandoned them.
