Americans Reject Clinton’s Failed Syria Policies
In a new poll released today, “more than 6 in 10 Americans now reject Obama’s handling of the threat posed by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.” That doesn’t bode well for Hillary Clinton, who served as Obama’s foreign policy chief for Syria policy as his Secretary of State. To make matters worse for Clinton, she has also supported his Syria policy repeatedly since she left office.
Just last week, Clinton supported Obama’s decision to send Special Forces into Syria despite having opposed putting boots on the ground there only two weeks before. In fact, Clinton has been supporting the Administration’s bumbling strategy against ISIS in Syria for a long time now even though fellow Democratic Senator Tim Kaine has criticized the Administration for having no strategy at all:
“They’ve got to put a credible Syria strategy on the table,” Kaine said. “They’ve got to put a strategy on the table that deals with the ISIL third of the problem, with the Assad third of the problem, and with the massive humanitarian disaster third of the problem. And they’re just not doing that.”
Having crafted a long series of foreign policy failures as Secretary of State, it is no surprise that Clinton would build on that poor record by supporting more failed policies in Syria.
