Another Scandal-Plagued Dem Gov Stonewalls
It appears Illinois Governor Pat Quinn is taking a page out of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s playbook.
In April, Quinn’s patronage hiring landed him in hot water. (Let’s not forget that such hiring practices were the modus operandi of imprisoned Rod Blagojevich.)
But when The Associated Press requested records showing what actions the Quinn administration took to address the hiring scandal, the administration stonewalled the AP. As the Chicago Sun Times notes, the administration’s “denial contradicts the administration’s assertion that it fixed the problem in the spring.”
Quinn often attempts to paint himself as a reformer, but his administration’s blatant lack of transparency clearly tells another story. It might be time for Quinn to find better role models than Cuomo and Blagojevich.
