Bennet Embraces Obama – Literally And Metaphorically
Following last night’s State of the Union, endangered Colorado Senator Michael Bennet fully embraced President Obama, a clear metaphor for what Bennet has done since going to Washington in 2009.
On issue after issue, Bennet has been one of President Obama’s most dogged allies, backing his agenda on ObamaCare, on new energy regulations, and even on the disastrous Iran Nuclear Deal. A CQ vote study confirms that Bennet has voted with President Obama on average 97 percent of the time since joining the Senate, putting to rest his nonsensical claims that he’s “bipartisan.”
Bennet’s consistent support of President Obama’s policies will likely prove to be very problematic this November when he faces the voters. In a recent Quinnipiac poll, an astounding 58 percent of Colorado residents said they disapproved of President Obama’s job performance. That same poll also showed that 41 percent believe that Bennet does not deserve to be re-elected, while only 30 percent want to give him another term.
Bennet’s fawning embrace of President Obama last night is a clear demonstration about his priorities. Instead of standing with Coloradans, Bennet showed that he is totally committed to the failed Obama agenda, which won’t sit well with voters when they go to the ballot box.
