Bernie Sanders Launches Attacks on Elizabeth Warren’s Record

Bernie Sanders has begun drawing pointed contrasts with Elizabeth Warren, criticizing her work for large corporations during her career as a consultant, and pointing out that his ideas and beliefs have been consistent over decades.

Bernie Sanders: “I have never worked for a corporation myself. I’ve never carried their baggage in the United States Senate.”

Sanders then expands on his answer by pointing out that he has been for Medicare for All since he was the Mayor of Burlington in the 1980s. Elizabeth Warren opposed Medicare for All in her 2012 senate race

He also emphasizes that people can look through his record and see that he has taken on “every powerful corporate interest whether it’s the drug companies, the insurance companies, fossil fuel, Wall Street.” Elizabeth Warren has been paid for consulting by numerous corporations, including fossil fuel interests and insurance companies, to perform legal work on their behalf.

Sanders further highlights that if people want to know how he will act as President, they can look at his decades-long record. Elizabeth Warren can’t say the same thing. Don’t expect Bernie to cede that line of attack any time soon.
