March 21, 2019While on the campaign trail in New Hampshire, Beto O’Rourke was asked a question about the militarization of our police forces. He placed the blame on Congress:
O’ROURKE: “Thank you. That was an excellent, excellent question. I hope I can do it some justice. You talk about the militarization of our police forces – we lay the blame for that not at the feet of police or Sheriff’s deputies, but members of Congress who have made it this way.”
Yet, back in 2010 as an El Paso City Councilman, O’Rouke voted to purchase 1,100 M4 assault rifles for the El Paso police department.
