Biden Border Crisis: More Than 10,000 Immigrants Make Camp in Texas

Thousands of illegal immigrants are still camping out under the International Bridge, in Del Rio, Texas. The immigrants believe “incentives of American policy” under the Biden-Harris administration will allow them to claim asylum and remain in the United States indefinitely.

Wall Street Journal Editorial: If President Biden wanted to undermine his chances for immigration reform, he couldn’t do a better job than his first eight months in office. The massing of thousands of Haitians under a bridge near Del Rio, Texas, in recent days is the latest example of government failure and perverse incentives that are producing chaos at the border.

Fox News reporter Bill Melugin, who is on the ground in Del Rio, described the scene as similar to a “third world refugee camp.”

Local officials have been pleading with the Biden-Harris administration for more resources to manage the crisis, but say they aren’t being heard. Del Rio’s Democratic Mayor Bruno J. Lozano called on the administration to take urgent action and said, “This is beyond crisis. This is urgent. This is dire.”

After writing a letter to Biden in August asking for assistance, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar says he never heard back. Now his department is having to reallocate resources to help manage the crisis at the border.

Texas law enforcement is begging the Biden administration for help in dealing with the #BidenBorderCrisis.

Bottom Line: The Biden-Harris administration’s mismanagement of the crisis at the border — created by their failed immigration policies — is devastating local communities and creating a humanitarian crisis. Now, local and state officials are left to clean up the mess Joe Biden and Kamala Harris created.
