California Democrat Continues Getting Snubbed By Labor Unions

Yesterday, the Sacramento Bee reported the California Labor Federation “snubbed” Democratic Rep. Ami Bera (CA-07) because of his free trade votes last year. The influential union of 2.1 million members, which supported Bera in previous races, took the unusual step of declining to endorse a candidate for the 7th District.

Bera has endured month after month of bad news as a result of his civil war with union activists, as he still refuses to take a position on the Trans-Pacific Partnership. He still refuses to take a position on the Trans-Pacific Partnership. The incumbent congressman even came very close to losing his endorsement from the state party (until Nancy Pelosi stepped in and saved him).

With this news, Bera’s campaign simply can’t escape from the bad headlines, including the continued fallout from his father’s illegal donations and the shady donor swap scheme.
