Carney: The FBI Investigation Is A General Election Challenge For Hillary Clinton
This morning former White House Press Secretary Jay Carney appeared on CNN to discuss Hillary Clinton’s ongoing email scandal.
CNN’s Chris Cuomo asked Carney if the drip, drip, drip from Clinton’s emails was largely responsible for Clinton’s honesty and trustworthiness numbers being so abysmally low. Carney responded:
CARNEY: There’s no question the Clintons have been on the national political stage for a long time and the subject of a barrage of criticism and investigation.
CUOMO: This is the FBI, though, not Trey Gowdy, Jay.
CARNEY: I hear you. And, look, this is a challenge for her. Much more of a challenge for her in the general election when she’s the nominee, which I think we all expect she will be, but you know, that’s — that’s an issue for her that she’s going to have to contest.
