Catherine Cortez Masto Can’t Name A Single Issue She Disagrees With Harry Reid On
Catherine Cortez Masto is Harry Reid’s handpicked replacement. After all, he endorsed her as soon as he announced his retirement and has been a relentless booster ever since she started her Senate campaign. Given these facts, it should come as no surprise that when Cortez Masto was asked to name areas of disagreement with Reid, she could not name one specific issue:
ARIANNA BENNETT: “So do you and Senator Reid agree on all issues or do you differ from him in areas?” CATHERINE CORTEZ MASTO: “Oh there’s going to be clearly places where we differ, there’s no doubt about it. There are issues that we differ on, on a national level but again for me it’s going to be fighting for families. And the other thing that is going to be different is I’ll be the first Latina ever elected to the United States Senate. And bringing different issues that I think are important, that I hear from people every day like passing comprehensive immigration reform, like fighting for our education system. I’m the product of the public education system here in the state of Nevada. I think we can do a better job. You know that here in Washoe, what we’re talking about when fighting for our kids and making sure they have a world class education.”
If elected, Catherine Cortez Masto has shown by these types of answers that she’d bring the same level of gridlock and partisanship that Reid has during his time in the Senate. The Senate has had enough of Harry Reid, and does not need his hand-picked successor to carry on his legacy of obstruction and dysfunction.
