Charlie Crist Gets Majority Of Donations From Employer
Charlie Crist’s most recent fundraising report shows his employer is once again bankrolling his campaign. The Tampa Bay Times reported that Crist received more than 60 percent of his first quarter donations from trial lawyers of the Morgan & Morgan firm.
John Morgan, the founder of firm and a big donor to Crist’s campaigns, hired Crist as a lawyer in 2011. But in 2014 it was reported that he rarely tried any cases in courtrooms despite receiving nearly $300,000 in salary. The Tampa Bay Times said Crist “works more as a rainmaker than a practicing lawyer.”
Crist’s close ties to trial attorney John Morgan and his law firm prove he’s still completely out of touch with the Floridians who have rejected his last two campaigns for public office.
