Chris Koster Comes Under Fire For Dodging Questions
Missouri Democrat Chris Koster officially declared for governor this week and he’s already taking heat from reporters for refusing to answer questions on key state and national issues.
ABC St. Louis host Jamie Allman bashed Koster for being the only candidate in the race to refuse to comment on on both a major religious freedom bill in the Missouri legislature and President Obama’s proposal to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay, which could have serious implications for Missouri as nearby Fort Leavenworth is on the short list of locations to house terrorist detainee transfers.
Allman’s brutal report comes the day after Koster refused to answer reporters’ questions about his campaign fundraising.
It’s inexplicable that Koster, who has been openly planning his run for more than three years, isn’t prepared to offer any substance on important issues for Missouri voters. No wonder leading editorial boards have called Koster a “pandering, political opportunist.”
