Clinton Backtracks On The Social Security Tax Cap
On Wednesday at a town hall in Claremont, NH, Clinton said she would take a look at raising the cap on the Social Security tax, while emphasizing she would protect the program.
But in 2008, Clinton “flatly rejected” the idea of raising Social Security taxes. In a Democratic primary debate in April 2008, Clinton said she was “certainly against” then-Senator Obama’s idea to increase the payroll tax, a plan that Democratic primary rival Bernie Sanders has embraced.
This backtrack is just another of example of Clinton showing that she will say or do anything to try to get to the left of New Hampshire front-runner Bernie Sanders.
