Clinton Campaign Perfects Head-In-Sand Strategy On Mounting Scandals
It appears that the only people who don’t recognize what a disastrous week Hillary Clinton has had is the candidate and her staff. After a blockbuster report by the Associated Press on Clinton Foundation cronyism, as well as awful news on her private email server, you’d think the Clinton campaign would be in full damage control mode. Yet according to a story in Politico this morning, they’ve got not a care in the world on either scandal.
Instead of apologizing to the American people for apparently selling access to the State Department to Clinton Foundation donors and lying about turning over all of her work emails, Clinton just plans on running out the clock on both scandals:
“With 75 days until Election Day and new emails once again casting a pall over her campaign, Hillary Clinton aims to ‘run out the clock,’ confidants say, on the latest chapters of the overlapping controversies that have dogged her campaign since the start. According to allies and operatives close to the campaign, Clinton’s team thinks ‘they can ride out’ any negative reaction to a set of new emails that show Clinton Foundation officials trying to set up State Department meetings for donors during her tenure as top diplomat.”
Even more worryingly, this muted approached to addressing the many scandals surrounding Clinton’s campaign is coming from the candidate herself. Apparently, Clinton believes each is a “fake scandal” that voters are “as sick of it as Clinton herself.” Hopefully everyone has enough oxygen in that bubble.
In a fit of cognitive dissonance though, the Clinton Foundation story by the Associated Press has been treated like the “five-alarm fire” it is. After the Associated Press broke the news that many of the private citizens Clinton met with as Secretary of State were also Clinton Foundation donors, the Clinton campaign put out a four paragraph statement disputing the story.
Hillary Clinton’s presidential candidate has been perpetually plagued by her lack of ethics. Sadly, it appears Clinton has now been so warped by her special status that she’s incapable of understanding how abhorrently her behavior is judged by the American people.
