Clinton Surrogate Bizarrely Claims There’s Nothing Nefarious In Transcripts Clinton Refuses To Release
Clinton campaign surrogate Karen Finney went on MSNBC Friday morning and boldly declared that Bernie Sanders has no “proof” that there was anything “nefarious” in Clinton’s speech transcripts.
FINNEY: Well, again, Senator Sanders is trying to use this to make an allegation to which he has absolutely no response when asked where is the proof. So, you know, I think a lot of voters found that very offensive.
This of course begs the question: how exactly is anyone supposed to prove what’s in these transcripts if Clinton won’t release them?
Ironically, the only reports about Clinton’s closed-door speeches indicate that Finney’s inane assumption is wrong and that Sanders’ has sound reasoning behind his request:
“It was pretty glowing about us,” one person who watched the event said. “It’s so far from what she sounds like as a candidate now. It was like a rah-rah speech. …”
This is the second surrogate SNAFU for the Clinton campaign regarding speech transcripts just today. Earlier, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) claimed Clinton should and will release the transcripts, which runs counter to pretty much everything Clinton has ever said on the topic.
