Clinton’s Plan To Cut The Debt: Spend Another Trillion Dollars

During today’s editorial board meeting with the Des Moines Register, Secretary Clinton was asked, “Do you have a plan to address the national debt?” Her response was incredible:

“Yeah, by spending responsibly on those priorities that I think will make us richer, make us safer, make us stronger, and help people deal with the problems they confront.”

You heard it here first, folks: Clinton wants to solve our more than $18 trillion in debt by spending more. Clinton has already proposed more than $1 trillion in new spending, and that number is only expected to rise.

It’s the same failed logic that the Obama administration shared when they tried selling the stimulus to the American people:

“Now, people when I say that look at me and say, ‘What are you talking about, Joe? You’re telling me we have to go spend money to keep from going bankrupt?’” Biden said. “The answer is yes, that’s what I’m telling you.”

The stimulus was an abysmal failure, and the administration’s promise of “shovel ready” jobs was exposed as a lie. But apparently Secretary Clinton learned nothing from that disastrous episode of American fiscal history.
