DCCC Involvement In NY-24 Dem Primary Backfires
Saturday night, New York Democrats got into a debate over the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC).
Steve Williams criticized his opponent Colleen Deacon three times throughout the debate for her reliance on “DCCC talking points.” He said her dodging questions was part of the “DCCC tap dancing.”
The DCCC and Nancy Pelosi’s involvement in the 24th District primary has dramatically backfired. This is one of many races where Washington Democrats’ heavy-handed intervention has caused major headaches for their hand-picked candidates. With Bernie Sanders supporting Eric Kingson, former DCCC chair Steve Israel behind Williams, and Nancy Pelosi supporting Deacon, the Democratic nominee will emerge from the primary with a very divided party.
