Democrat Refuses To Apologize For Demeaning Comments About Army Veteran
Last night, Democrat Randy Perkins (FL-18) refused to apologize for his offensive comments about his opponent, Brian Mast, a combat veteran who lost both his legs in Afghanistan. Instead, he pathetically tried to blame the Republican Party for mischaracterizing his comments.
But even third-party observers have condemned Perkins’ disgusting comments. The Orlando Sentinel editorial board called Perkins a “chump” for coarsening the political discourse by accusing Mast of not being “man enough to stand behind [his] own ads.”
Perkins’ refusal to apologize for demeaning a veteran’s military service is not that surprising for a candidate that broke his pledge to run a positive campaign and is trailing by seven points in the latest poll.
