Democrat Senate Candidate Cal Cunningham is Wrong for North Carolina

Since launching his campaign for U.S. Senate, Cal Cunningham has repeatedly shown North Carolinians that he isn’t fit to represent them in Washington.

According to FEC reports, nearly 90 percent of Cunningham’s campaign contributions have come from outside North Carolina. That shouldn’t come as much of a surprise after Cunningham admitted last October that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer instructed him to spend the campaign in a “windowless basement” raising money.

Cunningham has also repeatedly claimed that he “does not accept corporate PAC money” and “is not funded by special interests.” Politifact concluded those claims were “mostly false.” Not only has Cunningham taken money from PACs that accept contributions from corporations, but he was also the subject of an ethics complaint regarding illegal coordination with outside groups.

In order to continue receiving support from Chuck Schumer and his Washington allies, Cunningham has embraced an increasingly radical liberal agenda. He avoided questions about his position on the partisan impeachment of President Trump until the day the U.S. Senate vote to acquit, when he finally revealed that he would have voted to remove the president from office.

Cal Cunningham is out of step with North Carolinians on the vast majority of issues they care about, and he’s already been exposed as be a hypocrite for accepting support from the same dark money organizations he derides on the campaign trail.
