DNC Chair Faces Insurgent Primary Challenge
DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz faces rising discontent from the progressive base over her heavy-handed tactics in the presidential primary and her mismanagement of the Party. Politico reports her primary race is “widely seen as a proxy fight between [Bernie] Sanders and Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.”
This week, her primary opponent Tim Canova announced he has raised a staggering $1 million since entering the race in January, including more donations from within Florida than Wasserman Schultz.
One longtime party activist said, “Debbie Wasserman Schultz is going to have a run for her money – a million bucks worth and counting.”
Wasserman Schultz faces a tough few months before the August primary and will have to answer for her questionable leadership record at the DNC.
