FBI Director Blasts Clinton For “Extremely Careless” Handling Of Classified Material
FBI Director James Comey blasted Secretary Clinton’s handling of classified material today during a press conference at FBI headquarters. Comey’s blistering criticism stated that Clinton and her staff were “extremely careless” with “very sensitive, highly classified information.” Comey and his staff found 110 classified emails on Clinton’s servers, including 8 containing Top Secret information.
COMEY: “There is evidence that they were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information. For example, seven email chains concern matters that were classified at the Top Secret Special Access Program at the time they were sent and received. There is evidence to support a conclusion that any reasonable person in Secretary Clinton’s position or in the position of those with whom she was corresponding about those matters should have known that an unclassified system was no place for that conversation.”
Comey also obliterated Clinton’s defense in which she claims she did nothing wrong because nothing she sent or received was marked classified.
COMEY: “But even if information is not marked classified in an email, participants who know or should know that the subject matter is classified are still obligated to protect it.”
Comey also found that “it is possible that hostile actors gained access to Secretary Clinton’s personal e-mail account.”
In addition, Comey found that Clinton used multiple devices and multiple servers:
