Is Hillary Clinton Lying To The American People Regarding Her FBI Investigation?
On Tuesday, speaking with NBC News’ Andrea Mitchell, Secretary Clinton claimed that she and her representatives had not yet been contacted by the FBI regarding the investigation into her mishandling of classified information.
Yet yesterday afternoon CNN broke the story that over “recent weeks” Huma Abedin and other close Clinton aides have submitted to numerous interviews by the FBI:
“Some of Hillary Clinton’s closest aides, including her longtime adviser Huma Abedin, have provided interviews to federal investigators, as the FBI probe into the security of her private email server nears completion, U.S. officials briefed on the investigation tell CNN… In recent weeks, multiple aides have been interviewed — some more than once, the officials said.”
It strains credulity that Abedin and other close aides have been interviewed, some multiple times, and yet no one from the FBI has reached out to Clinton or her attorneys. It is especially unlikely given that the FBI would like to speak with her in the near future:
“A date for an FBI interview of Clinton has not been set, these officials said, but is expected in the coming weeks.”
Clinton caused this mess for herself in the first place because she wanted to hide information from the American people using a private server instead of a State Department email address. Now it appears she’s not telling the whole truth with regard to the FBI investigation into her practices. She owes it to the voters now to stop the obfuscation and actually answer questions about her private email server and the likely endangerment of classified material that resulted from it.
