House Democrats’ Trial And Error Messaging Strategy
Former DCCC chairman Steve Israel must be confused by all of the messaging strategies he is developing for House Democrats. He can’t seem to decide on a singular strategy, and appears to have chosen a “trial-and-error” approach.
Following their historic losses in 2014, Democrats admitted they had “too many messages.” Then in November 2015, Israel said Democrats would pivot back and forth between two messages of GOP dysfunction and extremism. But today, Israel has returned to his singular message theme, saying, “A good message is not multiple messages.”
Reset after reset after reset, House Democrats appear to be caught in a vicious cycle of trying to explain themselves to the American public.
