Howard Dean Doesn’t Know What He’s Talking About: Clinton Email Edition

Howard Dean is an awful Hillary Clinton surrogate. He proved just how terrible he was this morning on MSNBC. FBI Director James Comey’s statements on Clinton’s private email scandal have proven very damaging to her reputation and campaign. In the space of one answer, Dean managed to misconstrue three different facts laid out by Director Comey.

See below for Dean’s lies and the actual facts:

Dean’s Statement: Dean claimed that Director Comey said Clinton’s private server did not compromise “national intelligence.”

The Facts: Director Comey actually said that it was “possible that hostile actors gained access to Secretary Clinton’s personal email account.” That would obviously constitute a compromise of national intelligence.

Dean’s Statement: Dean absurdly stated that there was no classified information on Clinton’s private email server.

The Facts: In reality, 110 emails on Clinton’s private server contained classified information at the time they were sent or received.

Dean’s Statement: Finally, Dean falsely claimed that Clinton was “truthful” with regards to her private server.

The Facts: Numerous fact checkers have established that Clinton told a litany of lies regarding her email scandal, including Dean’s claim that Clinton has been “truthful” about her private server.
