Huma Abedin Had Email Access: The Latest Clinton Email Scandal Inconsistency
In July 2015, the Clinton campaign put out a “fact sheet” on her decision to solely use a private email server for work business while serving as Secretary of State. That fact sheet contained this question and answer:
We’ve arrived at yet another inconsistency. The latest batch of emails from the State Department released yesterday reveals Clinton aide Huma Abedin in fact had access to Clinton’s email account:
This is just the latest inconsistency in Team Clinton’s story about her email account. Last week, The Washington Post reported that Clinton was forced to turn over her emails after the State Department discovered Clinton had exclusively used a private email system—not as a response to a routine records request by the Department as Clinton and her team have repeatedly claimed.
Last week, Clinton’s campaign also changed its tune on whether her server had been “wiped.” In August, in response to stories reporting Clinton’s server was swiped, spokesman Brian Fallon tweeted “This is not news. He first said it five months ago. Geez.” But talking points the campaign put out last week call stories about the server being wiped “rumors” that “were never true.”
So much of the campaign’s original spin on Clinton’s emails has been debunked at this point that nearly nothing remains of their original talking points.
