Illinois Dem Primary Fight Escalates Over Gun Safety

The divisive Democratic primary in Illinois’ 10th District has now turned into full-blown attack mode, with Nancy Rotering taking a dig at her opponent Brad Schneider for his alleged lack of leadership on gun control. After highlighting her work on gun safety measures, Rotering said, “It’s time to get a champion, not just an ally, running for Congress in the 10th District.” Rotering’s accusation that Schneider has not worked to accomplish significant reforms comes after he tried to bolster his image on this issue with his first TV ad.

With Dick Durbin and Nancy Pelosi on opposite sides in this brutal primary, Democrats must be starting to worry about a divided party in November regardless of who emerges as the nominee on March 15.
