Illinois Democrat Declares Support For Job Killing Carbon Tax

In a 10th District candidate forum last night, former Rep. Brad Schneider admitted that he supports a carbon tax.

Schneider, who is looking to regain his old Congressional seat, previously blocked legislation that would prevent the carbon tax without Congressional approval.

According to the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office, a carbon tax would have devastating effects on the US economy, including leading to lower wages, fewer jobs, and less economic investment. The carbon tax would also lead to higher electricity prices and disproportionately impact low-income households.
