In Bizarre Interview, Clinton Now Claims Sanders Ad Attacks Obama
In what can only be described as a bizarre appearance on MSNBC’s “Rachel Maddow Show,” Secretary Clinton is now claiming that Bernie Sanders sleepy ad, “Two Visions,” is a vicious attack on both herself and President Obama.
This afternoon, Clinton’s team held a conference call in which staffers feigned shock over Sanders’ contrast ad, claiming the ad was a sure sign Sanders had “gone negative.” Already bored of that line of attack, Clinton now claims the ad takes shots at Obama:
“I mean basically it’s also a very direct criticism of President Obama who, as you might recall, took a lot of money from the financial industry when he ran in 2008.”
But Clinton didn’t stop there, and this is where things get weird. Clinton claimed Sanders ad was an attack on all Democrats who supported financial regulations like Dodd-Frank. And by that logic, Bernie Sanders is attacking… himself?
“I think that you know the president and many Democrats who support Dodd-Frank, we are fighting to prevent it from being turned back and eviscerated by the Republicans. You know are saying wait a minute, you know. This is hard work. And what the president got done and what the Democrats who stood with him got done is a pretty important accomplishment if we’re going to rein in the excesses of Wall Street. So it’s a funny kind of charge. It’s sort of a pox on all your houses for all the Democrats. And I think that that’s what raised some eyebrows.”
And Clinton’s bizarre line of attack didn’t stop there. Earlier today, PolitiFact gave Chelsea Clinton her first rating of “Mostly False” for her attacks on Bernie Sanders. The younger Clinton claimed Sanders’ health care plan would “empower Republican governors to take away Medicaid, to take away health insurance for low-income and middle-income working Americans.”
Ignoring the fact checkers, Hillary Clinton repeated that charge tonight:
“Now, the only clue that I can find, because he hasn’t laid out a plan, is to go back and look at the bills that he’s introduced nine different times. And it’s a bit concerning to me because it would basically end all the kinds of health care we know, Medicare, Medicaid, the CHIP program, children’s health insurance, TRICARE for the National Guard, military, Affordable Care Act exchange policies, employer-based policies.”
So not only is Clinton parroted disproved attacks, she and her team think convincing Rachel Maddow viewers, perhaps some of the most liberal in the country, that the Democratic Socialist candidate for President wants to take away Americans health care?
What is Hillary Clinton even talking about anymore?
