In NH, Clinton Brags About Voting To “Build A Barrier” To “Prevent Illegal Immigrants From Coming In”
Tonight at a town hall event in New Hampshire, Secretary Hillary Clinton bragged that she voted “numerous times” to build a border fence to keep out illegal immigrants:
CLINTON: “Look, I voted numerous times when I was a senator to spend money to build a barrier to try to prevent illegal immigrants from coming in. And I do think you have to control your borders.”
That’s quite a change in tone from May, when Clinton was in Nevada and telling voters she wants to go beyond President Obama’s immigration executive actions:
Hillary Clinton vowed Tuesday evening to “do everything I possibly can” to help immigrants – including going beyond President Obama’s executive actions to extend deportation relief to undocumented immigrants.
“We can’t wait any longer for a path to full equal citizenship,” Clinton declared during a roundtable meeting with young, undocumented immigrants at a high school here.
How does one go from claiming you will “do everything I possible can” to help immigrants in Nevada to bragging “I voted numerous times” to “build a barrier to prevent illegal immigrants from coming in” in New Hampshire? Only a candidate willing to say or do anything could answer that question. But it might explain why one voter told Clinton at tonight’s event that “one of the biggest issues of your campaign is trust.”
