Joe Biden’s Fracking Ban Would Destroy America’s Economic Recovery

The American energy industry was dealt a significant blow due to the coronavirus pandemic. As the economy begins to show signs of recovery and people get back to work, Joe Biden’s record reveals why he would stop that recovery in its tracks.

During a Democratic presidential debate last July, Biden was asked to explain his position on coal and fracking. Not only did he plainly state “We would make sure it’s eliminated,” but he went as far as to say he would cease and subsidies for “any fossil fuel.”

Biden was asked about ending fracking and pipelines again in January 2020, to which he answered “Yeah, yes. No pipeline. Exactly.”

Then during yet another Democratic presidential debate in March 2020, Biden committed to “No new fracking” and “Not another new coal plant will be built.”

A ban on fracking alone could cost nearly 6 million jobs and increase household energy spending by $4,500. When Biden was asked directly if he would be willing to displace hundreds of thousands of blue-collar workers to transition to a “greener” economy, his answer was yes.

These radical proposals, combined with Joe Biden’s plan to repeal President Trump’s historic tax cuts, spells devastation for any hope of an economic rebound.
