Joe Biden Is Expected to Fall Short of His “Day One” Promises

During the presidential campaign, Joe Biden pledged to fulfill more than half-a-dozen “day one” promises on a range of issues, including tax reform, energy and the environment, and immigration.

But days away from his inauguration, reality is setting in and the odds of Biden delivering on his lofty campaign promises are looking increasingly unlikely. Unsurprisingly, Joe Biden’s “day one” agenda centers around reversing regulations and policies that improved the lives of everyday Americans:

  1. Eliminate the first middle-class tax cuts passed in more than three decades
  2. Rejoin the unenforceable Paris climate agreement
  3. Pave the way for 11 million illegal immigrants to skip the line and become citizens
  4. Sign a federal mask mandate that Biden himself admitted may not be constitutional
  5. Implement “unprecedented” energy regulations modeled after the radical Green New Deal

According to a new report from Bloomberg News, Biden’s agenda is more likely to take months than days (if he manages to accomplish it at all).

Bloomberg: “While some of Biden’s promises can be accomplished with the stroke of a pen, others will require him to prod the bureaucracy to act. Some will rely on his ability to strike deals with Republicans in Congress. And still others are likely to be dead on arrival.”

In fact, Joe Biden is already on track to be unable to attain even his first 100-day goals. After promising to distribute 100 million COVID-19 vaccinations within his first 100 days in office, Biden has reportedly lashed out against his coronavirus task force amid rising concerns that they could very well fall short.

Bottom line: Joe Biden’s lofty “day one” ambitions are just more empty promises from a career Washington politician.
