Joe Biden’s Approval Rating Hits Record Low After Disastrous ‘Month From Hell’

Joe Biden’s mismanagement of multiple crises — including Afghanistan, the border, and inflation — has driven his approval rating to a record low, according to a new Morning Consult poll. His approval numbers fell among both Democrats and Republicans, dropping to just 41 percent of Independents saying they approve of Biden’s job performance.

For the first time, FiveThirtyEight’s daily tracker showed Biden’s approval rating underwater on August 30. Pollsters cite several reasons for the “precipitous” drop.

FiveThirtyEight: In the past few weeks, President Biden’s job approval rating has dropped precipitously while his disapproval rating has risen sharply amid concerns surrounding the delta variant of the coronavirus, the associated economic fallout from the pandemic and the ongoing withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan.

Just how much have things changed for Biden? A month ago, his approval rating stood at 52.7 percent and his disapproval rating sat at 42.7 percent, according to FiveThirtyEight’s presidential approval tracker, for a net approval rating of +10.0 percentage points. But as of Thursday,1 his approval rating stood at 47.1 percent and his disapproval rating at 47.0 percent, for a net approval rating of +0.1 points.

Politico called August a “month from hell” for Biden and went on to warn that his sinking poll numbers might threaten the administration’s domestic agenda, including Democrats’ reckless $3.5 trillion tax and spending spree.

Politico: It’s been a month from hell for JOE BIDEN. From the bungled Afghanistan pullout mission that led to American casualties, to the spike in Covid-19 hospitalizations — and an accompanying hit to his poll numbers — September can’t come soon enough for the president.

Bottom Line: Voters are angry about Joe Biden’s broken promises and they’re holding the Biden-Harris administration accountable for their incompetent management of multiple crises at home and abroad.
