Joe Biden’s campaign is off to a hot start in the “things Joe says” category. At his first rally of the campaign, Joe threw out a “whopper” on the 2017 tax cuts.

Biden earned 4 pinocchios from the WaPo fact check team for saying that all of the tax cuts “went to the folks at the top and corporations.”

WaPo: “But Biden, with his loose language, ends up in the Four-Pinocchio territory. He asserts that no Americans but those at the top received any tax cut in 2018, which is clearly false. Most Americans received a tax cut. They may not have noticed it, but that’s no excuse for saying they never got one.

FactCheck.org also admonished Biden for his tax claim, noting that it was “highly probable that most of those in the audience got a tax cut as a result of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.”

The publication cited numbers from the Tax Policy Center that noted 82 percent of “middle-income earners — those with income between about $49,000 and $86,000 — received a tax cut that averaged about $1,050.”
