If the White House is banking on Joe Biden’s empathy to address inflation, they should go back to the drawing board.

Joe Biden’s Phony Empathy Won’t Solve Inflation

As Americans’ faith in the Biden administration’s handling of inflation diminishes, the White House is looking to do a much-needed revamp to their economic messaging. Their new strategy? Utilizing what officials view as Joe Biden’s “best political asset and weapon against Americans’ angst: empathy.”

NBC News: “The still-evolving plan, according to administration officials, is for Biden to stress that he understands the economic pain many Americans are experiencing, particularly because of inflation, in an attempt to balance out his recent efforts to get credit for policy prescriptions the White House believes have been successes.”

Wall Street Journal: “In recent weeks, Mr. Biden has made personal appeals in his speeches to families facing higher prices for food, gasoline and cars. Addressing county officials this week he said: ‘I grew up in a family where the price at the pump was felt in the kitchen. Everybody knew. Everybody felt it. I understand.’ In Virginia last week, he said: ‘I know food prices are up, and we’re working to bring them down.’”

Unfortunately, Joe Biden’s behavior has been anything but empathetic. For example, when he was asked about inflation by Fox News’ Peter Doocy last month, Biden called the reporter “a stupid son of a bitch.” This type of rash response is not out of character for the president.

  • In March 2020, Biden called an auto worker “a horse’s ass” and said he was “full of shit.”
  • In December 2019, Biden called a man “fat” after he asked about Hunter Biden’s work with Burisma.
  • In June 2010, Biden called a custard shop owner “a smartass” when he spoke of lowering taxes.
  • In 2006, Biden said “you cannot go to a 7-Eleven or Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.”
  • In 1987, Biden told a New Hampshire voter he had a higher IQ than him.

America Rising even got a taste of Biden’s temper when he called one of our employees a “real prick” in 2018.

Whitney Robertson, America Rising PAC Press Secretary: “If the White House is banking on Joe Biden’s empathy to address inflation, they should go back to the drawing board. Americans are looking for a leader who will meet the moment and tackle America’s pressing challenges  – not just meaningless words and band-aid responses.”
