‘Just Shut It Down Already’: Lincoln Project Co-Founders Call on Group to Shut Down

Lincoln Project co-founder George Conway and former Senior Advisor Kurt Bardella just now both called on the Lincoln Project to be shut down as it grapples with systemic and corrosive problems within the organization.

The group’s problems were laid out in a story by The 19th News’ Amanda Becker, who detailed internal problems within the organization and whose direct messages with co-founder Jennifer Horn were posted on Twitter by LP.

19th News: “The screenshots shared Thursday night by the Lincoln Project, one of which was reshared by Wilson from his personal account, were of Horn’s inbox on the social media platform. She said she had neither provided the images to the Lincoln Project nor had she given another individual permission to access her account. The tweets were quickly deleted after Conway said publicly that the move ‘looks on its face to be a violation of federal law’ and urged their removal.”

The most recent story from 19th News reveals that Lincoln Project co-founders were aware of sexual harassment allegations against John Weaver as early as March of 2020.

The group’s internal finances will continue to haunt the co-founders as the Associated Press reported that only $27 million of the over $90 million raised went directly to aired advertisements.

AP: “Of the $90 million Lincoln Project has raised, more than $50 million has gone to firms controlled by the group’s leaders…

“Since its creation, the Lincoln Project has raised $90 million. But only about a third of the money, roughly $27 million, directly paid for advertisements that aired on broadcast and cable, or appeared online, during the 2020 campaign”
