Let’s be clear.

Kamala Harris doesn’t know whether or not she would eliminate private health insurance and that should make voters just as nervous as Elizabeth Warren’s raised hand last night. Tonight she decided to raise her hand in support of abolishing private insurance.

At a CNN Town Hall in January, Harris advocated for getting rid of private health insurance in favor of a single-payer system. Over 180 million Americans currently have private health insurance.

Harris walked back the comments less than 24 hours later after fellow Democrats distanced themselves from her position. Harris is in fact a co-sponsor of Bernie Sanders’ Medicare for All proposal that eliminates private health insurance.
