Kasim Reed Ready To Flack For Clinton Again, But It Probably Won’t Be His Words

Who’s going to write Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed’s DNC speech? If we look to the past, it makes sense to assume that a well-connected lobbyist will write it and a shady pro-Clinton Super PAC will edit it for him.

That’s because The Intercept discovered in May that an op-ed Reed allegedly penned, “was primarily written by a corporate lobbyist, and was edited by Correct the Record, one of several pro-Clinton Super PACs.”

While coordinating with a lobbyist and a Super PAC on a political op-ed while serving in public office raises ethical questions, it also shows how shallow Mayor Reed’s support for Hillary Clinton is, if he can’t even come up with his own statement praising her.

However, we’ll give Mayor Reed a pass. With Clinton’s lack of any accomplishments as Secretary of State, we understand why he’d need a lifeline when trying to write a piece supporting her.
