Mark Begich Has No Idea How To Handle The Obama Question

In an interview with the Washington Examiner yesterday, Mark Begich was asked if he voted for President Obama in 2008 and 2012:

“I did, but that’s irrelevant,” Begich, the Democratic incumbent from Alaska, told the Washington Examiner. “The president’s not relevant. He’s gone in two years.”

That’s a change from earlier this month, when he wouldn’t say if he voted for Obama. But the “irrelevant” remark is particularly striking, considering Begich brings up the Obama White House all the time.

In one of his first TV ads, Begich claims he fought the White House on drilling—a phony claim that’s been proven false. In another interview, Begich said he’s “a thorn” in Obama’s posterior.

Since Begich, who votes with Obama 97% of the time, is actively drawing attention to Obama and making him relevant, one question comes to mind: why should Alaska voters vote for him?
