Michael Bennet Says Bye-Bye To Veepstakes
Colorado Senator Michael Bennet’s vice presidential dreams likely came to an end Tuesday night, as his endorsed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton got shellacked by Bernie Sanders in the Colorado caucuses.
Bennet endorsed Clinton all the way back in April, and served on her leadership council, which was intended to showcase the Clinton campaign’s “institutional muscle” in the Centennial State. If that’s the most “muscle” Bennet can offer, he may want to start hitting the gym more often.
It shouldn’t have come as a surprise to Clinton that Bennet turned out to be a completely ineffective surrogate – polling shows he’s the only politician in the state with a lower approval rating than hers.
