Joe Biden has “enjoyed an explosion of wealth” according to a new piece this morning from The Washington PostDespite his oft-repeated remark that he was once the poorest Senator in Congress, the title doesn’t hold since he left office, as he’s seen his net worth skyrocket.

Biden’s personal financial disclosure form shows that he and his wife made at least $15 million in income since leaving office in January 2017.

The Washington Post details where he has generated income from book deals and speaking fees, as well as how he is spending his newly earned millions including:

  • Renting a “12,000-square-foot residence contains five bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, marble fireplaces, a gym and a sauna.” Notably purchased by Mark Ein, a Democratic donor, who lives next door.
    • Be sure to watch the tour of the home mentioned in the piece.
  • Purchasing a “$2.7 million, 4,800-square-foot vacation house near the water in Rehoboth Beach, Del”

Biden’s new found wealth runs directly contrary to his message on the trail of understanding the plight of the middle class.
