Middle-Class Voters Know Joe Biden Is Going To Raise Their Taxes

“Nobody making under $400,000 bucks would have their taxes raised. Period. Bingo,” promised then-presidential candidate Joe Biden.

But as Democrats’ reckless tax-and-spend spree continues and Biden’s inflation crisis remains intact, recent polling suggests voters are skeptical about taking Biden at his word.

Washington Examiner: “In an August survey by Scott Rasmussen and RMG Research, 61% of registered voters said they believed the Biden administration would raise taxes on middle-class Americans, even as they were reminded of the president’s pledge.Twenty-seven percent said they believed a tax increase was unlikely, while 12% said they were unsure.”

Economists have predicted for months that the Biden-Harris administration’s “infrastructure” proposals would result in a tax hike that hurts the middle class.

Bloomberg: “A top White House economist made clear on Monday that Biden doesn’t want to impose costs on anyone earning less than $400,000 per year. At the same time, the White House is likely to push for a higher corporate tax rate. These goals are incompatible. If the corporate rate goes up, it will reduce the incomes of the middle class.”

Wall Street Journal: “The great political fakery here is that corporate taxes merely fall on CEOs and rich shareholders. But as everyone knows, corporations don’t really pay taxes. They are vehicles for collecting taxes that are ultimately paid by some combination of customers in higher prices, workers in lower wages, and shareholders in lower returns on investment.”

Now, despite Democrats’ claim that they will only raise taxes on the rich, they voted down an amendment Tuesday night that would keep the state and local tax cap, giving the wealthiest Americans a $144,000 tax cut.
