Mook Meltdown: Clinton Campaign Manager Unable To Answer Basic Questions On MSNBC
This morning, Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager Robby Mook proved incapable of answering fairly basic foreign policy questions on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
The interview began with a softball question about the announced break up of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, and despite not answering even that question cleanly, it was Mook’s best response of the interview.
Co-host Mike Barnicle, who famously stumped Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson with a question about Aleppo, asked Mook what Clinton would do to address the food, water, and medicine crisis in the Syrian city.
“I think you’re going to have to ask her that question. That’s a matter of policy, and I’m going to leave it for her,” Mook responded.
Baffled by the Clinton campaign’s decision to send Mook on a show that regularly debates policy, host Joe Scarborough laid into Mook:
“We love you, buddy, but what are you here for if you can’t answer basic questions? I mean, I don’t know if there’s a — I mean, we may be tip-toeing into Gary Johnson territory here if you don’t know the answer to that basic of a question.”
Mook responded that they were asking “new policy questions” and reiterated that they should ask Clinton herself for the answers to these questions.
“Aleppo’s been around for — Syria’s been around for some time,” Scarborough shot back. “The red line being drawn has been around for some time.”
