Morning Shows: Biden/Gore Speculation A Result Of Hillary Clinton’s Uninspiring Campaign
Speculation that Vice President Joe Biden may challenge Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination is reaching a fever pitch. But Friday morning, it was a former Democrat vice president’s potential candidacy that had people talking.
BuzzFeed reported Al Gore’s team was “figuring out if there’s a path” for him to the Democratic nomination. Andrew Kaczynski wrote the talk was “the latest sign that top Democrats have serious doubts that Hillary Clinton is a sure thing.”
On NBC’s Today, Chuck Todd said “rank and file” Democrats are “uninspired” by Hillary Clinton, adding:
“They are not so in love with her they want to put a bumper sticker on their car or a yard sign in their yard. And I think that that’s sort of the disconnect right now.”
On Morning Joe, Donny Deutsch said Americans are “tired of Hillary Clinton.” Mika Brzezinski added “there is fatigue.”
The next hour, MSNBC host Steve Kornacki piled on, noting how far Hillary Clinton has fallen from a year ago and naming even more high-profile Democrats that could conceivably mount a challenge:
