Nancy Rotering Refuses To Take A Stand On Critical Local Education Issue

On the eve of Illinois’ primary, Highland Park Mayor Nancy Rotering remains silent on a critical education referendum that would close and merge schools in her hometown. The Highland Park Patch reports that Rotering “has taken no public stand on the issue that some have referred to as a ‘civil war’ in Highland Park.” While Rotering discusses the importance of “providing access to quality education” on her campaign website, she would not even respond to the reporter’s question about the referendum.

It is unacceptable that Rotering is asking for voters in Illinois’ 10th District to send her to Congress but she won’t even declare her position on a such an important education issue in the district.
