Nevada Democrat Unwittingly Attacks Primary Opponent As Out Of Touch Millionaire

This week, NV-04 Democratic primary candidate Ruben Kihuen spoke at a Fight For $15 rally in Las Vegas, NV and railed against the “multi-millionaires” who are out of touch with the people at the rally.

Kihuen specifically said: “But today, today we have leaders in Congress that are part of the wealthy and the elite, people who don’t look like you and I, people who represent the big corporations and the big companies, and the multi-millionaires that don’t relate to you or to myself.”

Unbeknownst to Kihuen, his primary opponent Susie Lee was just steps away from him in the crowd watching his speech. Lee, whose husband Dan Lee is a wealthy former casino executive, is a multi-millionaire whose family net worth ranges between $8 million and a little over $23 million.

KIHUEN: “And my story is an unlikely story, but it’s a story that’s only likely in the United States of America: that if you come here and you work hard, you sacrifice, you get a good education, yes you can be a state senator and run for United States Congress. But today, today we have leaders in Congress that are part of the wealthy and the elite, people who don’t look like you and I, people who represent the big corporations and the big companies, and the multi-millionaires that don’t relate to you or to myself. And those are the people who we’re sending the message to today, that we need you to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour.”
