Nevada Democrats Dominated By Failed Fringe Candidate

Establishment Democrats running for Congress in Nevada’s 4th district are being dominated by a failed, far-left fringe candidate. Harry Reid’s handpicked candidate Ruben Kihuen and self-funded multi-millionaire Susie Lee just experienced a tidal wave of grassroots Democrat support against them.

“Democratic congressional candidate Lucy Flores reports raising more than $428,000 in mostly small-dollar contributions in April, boosting her candidacy for Nevada’s 4th Congressional District.

The former state Assemblywoman was helped by an fundraising pitch sent last week to supporters of Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders, who she endorsed in January.

Flores, who previously lagged behind state Sen. Ruben Kihuen and philanthropist Susie Lee in fundraising, said the influx of funds could upend the primary race.”

By comparison, in the first two weeks of April, Lee and Kihuen raised $8,000 and $16,000 respectively. This report must come as a shock to the two establishment-friendly candidates, especially considering Flores’s failure as a political candidate in 2014 (she barely garnered 33% of the vote in her bid for Nevada Lieutenant Governor). Even with the backing of party bosses and their own personal bank accounts, Kihuen and Lee are struggling to find support from their base.
