New Hampshire DNC Committeewoman Slams Debate Schedule
As Hillary Clinton heads to New Hampshire today, one of her top surrogates and senior advisers in the Granite State, DNC Committeewoman and former New Hampshire Democratic Party chair Kathy Sullivan, has some harsh words for the recently-released DNC primary debate schedule that Clinton’s campaign has heavily backed.
In response to outcries from numerous Democratic officials and activists, Sullivan expressed her own skepticism to the Boston Herald:
A group of high-ranking New Hampshire Democrats wrote an open letter yesterday demanding more debates, and a supporter of front-runner Hillary Clinton and former NHDP chair Kathy Sullivan concurred.
“Six may be too few,” Sullivan told the Herald. “Personally I’d like to have a debate after Iowa and before the New Hampshire primary in New Hampshire. That’s not on the schedule. I’m a member of the DNC, so they’ll probably get upset with me for saying that, but that’s how I feel.”
With her own supporters backing Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley’s position on the debate calendar, it looks like lagging poll numbers won’t be the only challenge Clinton faces in the First-in-the-Nation Primary state.
