New York Democratic Primary Heats Up
The East End Beacon reports, “The gloves are coming off this week in the Democratic primary” for New York’s 1st Congressional District.
While Anna Throne-Holst has won support from DC establishment Democrats like Steny Hoyer and Steve Israel, yesterday venture capitalist Dave Calone announced endorsements from lawmakers in Throne-Holst’s own backyard, the South Fork peninsula. Throne-Holst, who served as Southampton’s town supervisor for six years through 2015, lost the endorsement of County Legislator Bridget Fleming, who served with her on the Southampton Town Board. In addition, Throne-Holst failed to win the endorsements of four leaders from the neighboring town of East Hampton.
This news demonstrates Throne-Holst’s ineffective leadership in her own backyard. Throne-Holst failed to win a single endorsement from the people who have actually seen her leadership – or rather, lack thereof – firsthand.
