A Republican group filmed Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-Fla.) at a fundraiser thrown by wealthy supporters on day two of his participation in the “Minimum Wage Challenge.”

Murphy, who is running for the Florida Senate seat being vacated by Marco Rubio, has been tweeting scenes from living on Florida’s minimum wage of $8.05 an hour, attracting media attention for his efforts.

“Far too many people in this country are working full-time jobs yet still living in poverty,” Murphy said in a video he promoted on his Twitter account on Wednesday.

On Thursday afternoon, Murphy tweeted a photograph of himself using cash to pay for a ticket on Washington’s Metro subway system.

A few hours after sharing the Metro photograph on his congressional social media account, Murphy boarded a plane for Florida and attended a fundraiser at the Tampa home of former City Councilwoman Linda Saul-Sena and her husband, Mark.

A tracker from the Republican opposition research group America Rising was waiting outside the home and captured Murphy on video leaving the house on Thursday night.

Noting that Murphy left the fundraiser in a car with a driver, Ian Prior, the communications director for Republican groups American Crossroads and the new Senate Leadership Fund, quipped, “minimum wage goes a lot further than I thought!”
